New Release Snap Judgements 3/17/2008

Today is St. Patrick’s Day and no better way use the luck of the Irish than to go to Vegas. Well, that may be too expensive for some but you can pick a title set in Vegas, so, at least it’s something.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Xbox 360, PS3) – Pick of the Week

Ubisoft’s other squad based shooter based in the Tom Clancy universe returns to Sin City. Much like the first, I am lukewarm on this one and will wait for a demo. It’s going to sell well and score pretty good.

Sega Superstars Tennis (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, DS)

I’m a sucker for a good tennis title but haven’t heard anything about this one. That only leads me to think that if it were, perhaps, actually good, I would have. I’d take a pass.

Hot Shots Golf 2: Out of Bounds (PS3)

I am also a sucker for this swank sport although Tiger Woods has let me down recently, the funnier, cartoon-ier Hot Shots should be a good time. It may not be $60 worth of a good time so I may wait for a good deal to pick this one up.

Worms: A Space Oddity (Wii)

One of my favorite games on XBLA makes it’s way to the Wii and, while I hope that it won’t, I expect a huge flop as hardcore players have probably had enough of the series and new, Wii gamers won’t care or get it.

Metal Gear Solid: Essential Collection (PS2)

While I never go back and play old titles, I would say that, if you want to go back and catch up on the convoluted and complicated plot ahead of the June 12th release of MGS 4, it may be worth it.

So, what title(s) are you picking up this week?
