New Release Snap Judgements 5/12/2008

This week is probably another good week to save your money and continue to work toward 100% in Grand Theft Auto IV but, if you truly are interested in some new games already, there are some notable new releases this week.

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, DS, PSP, PC)

Movie tie-in games are usually not of superb quality, to say the least. I’d give this one a rent at best and that is only if you or your child are huge fans of the books and films.

Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm (Xbox 360, PC)

Who doesn’t love a good fishing simulator? Oh, no one? Yeah, this licensed title is probably going to be just as bad as your average movie tie-in game but it may have decent graphics considering it is only on the Xbox 360 and PC.

We Ski (Wii) – Pick of the Week

A sport that is perfectly suited to using the Wii’s motion controls and is compatible with the Wii Fit Balance Board, which will be available next week with the launch of the game, makes this a pretty good choice for gamers who use the Wii as their main source of gaming.

Deca Sports (Wii)

A Wii Sports copycat that may be, at best, able to duplicate the fun of the original. If you’re content with the Wii pack-in or are over it then skip this title. If you’re looking for your next Wii Sports fix then this may be something to think about.

Myst (DS)

The classic PC title makes it’s way to the ubiquitous handheld. This is certainly not the pick up and play title that many other DS games are but, if that is not a problem for you, and you are a fan of the original you may be interested. That being said, go play one of the new fun titles for the DS and leave this game in the past where it belongs.

What will you be picking up this week?
