Sony Online Entertainment announced today that it has partnered with LiveGamer.com to allow trade of real money for virtual items in The Agency and Free Realms.
According to a press release, LiveGamer’s service, dubbed Live Gamer Exchange, will “provide the SOE gaming community within these new games with a trusted way to conduct real-money transactions.”
SOE already allows LiveGamer’s real-money e-commerce system in EverQuest.
According to SOE’s president, it’s one of the many ways Sony is exploring in order to offer its network for free, as opposed to XBox Live’s monthly service charge.
