When I first purchased my wii at launch and realized what I had done, knowing what Nintendo is been known for, “kiddy” games like many say, I wanted to proof myself wrong. I started researching for wii games that might have and adult interest, and the only game that populated at the time was Sadness. Not much but a few black and white pictures and a short video is what I found for Sadness, and immediately the video made this game very interesting. Ever since then I been really curious and eager to find out more details, and whether or not this game will be a flop or a fo sho copp. I do know that Nintendo has Gamebryo powering the black and white adventure game Sadness, and they’re saying the engine lets them achieve the impossible on Nintendo wii. Check this out:
“Without a doubt, Gamebryo is the most powerful engine available for the Wii. After getting familiar with the engine several months ago we made the decision to choose Gamebryo. Since then, our team has been working on Sadness and we are quite impressed,” said Tomasz Wisniowski, Project Manager of Nibris. “We will have quite a few graphical effects in our game, which some believe are impossible to attain on the Wii. Gamebryo helped make it possible. We are firmly convinced we made the right choice.”
Sadness is a horror adventure game aimed at adults with strong nerves. Players will need to confront their greatest fears and protect themselves in hopes of not getting trapped inside the main character’s nightmare. The game has eight different extreme endings each with their own premise, which are assigned to a player based on specific factors during the game. To compliment the intense gameplay, the Wii-mote and Wii Nunchuk control the main character’s hands so players feel as though they are in the psychological thriller.
We will see was up with this title, it is scheduled to release something this year, seems very secretive. Can this be the wii’s fire at the “real gamers”? Or maybe just the wii doing its thing with games that will appeal to the casual gamers. How about a mixture of both? I’m keeping my eye on this title without a doubt. Come on Sadness deliver us from wii dust.
