1942: Joint Strike Hits Xbox 360 & PS3 July 23-24

Capcom announced this week that the classic arcade shooter, 1942 will be touching down on Wednesday, July 23 for the Xbox 360 Xbox Live Arcde and Thursday, July 24 for the PS3 Playstation Network. 1942: Joint Strike will feature gameplay that is reminiscent of the original 1942 games, but features several improvements for the ‘next-gen’ game consoles. The gameplay will still retain the top-down 2D style, but the game will be using a 3D engine. 1942: Joint Strike will feature 2-player online co-op play. Also included in this new version of the game is new power-ups, weapons, and Joint Strike attacks. The graphics and music have been retooled by Backbone Entertainment, and it features a brand new score by Norihiko Hibino, who is best known for his work for the Metal Gear series.

1942: Joint Strike is rated E for Everyone and will retail for 800 MSP on the XBL Marketplace or $9.99 on the PSN.
