Rock Band Song Exporter Is Live

You can now export 55 tracks from your Rock Band disc onto your Xbox 360 HDD. Available now, the export will cost you a cool 400 MS points, or $5. The export won’t be easy on your hard drive. A whopping 1.52GB of space will be required for all 55 songs.
Rock Band 2
Once Rock Band 2 releases this month, you will be able to play all songs using your Rock Band 2 disc. No need for disc swapping.

Some songs did not make the licensing cut and will not be exported. Metallica’s Enter Sandman, Black Sabbath’s Paranoid, and Iron Maiden’s Run for the Hills will stay trapped on your Rock Band disc.

I know some people are upset with having to pay to be able to export these songs, but I don’t think it’s too bad considering that they really did not have to do this. They could have saved themselves a lot of work and made us have to switch back and forth. This just shows how dedicated Harmonix is to those of us who took the Rock Band plunge.

Thanks, Joystiq and Jay900!
