Dont Delete Just Yet



The joys of owning a PlayStation 3, you can rent or even buy movies without ever leaving your house, but you realized you have bought so many movies you have no more room on your hard drive to download the latest update for your favorite game.  So what do you do just delete some of the movies right…………NO STOP RIGHT THERE, once you have bought and downloaded your favorite movie don’t delete it, because you are only able to download it once.

The PlayStation support page is pretty clear on this one “content can’t be re-downloaded to either a PS3 or PSP”.

O.K. so you don’t have the room you need, so you purchase a larger hard drive so you don’t lose your videos, but stop before you do that the back up utility states it “should” be safe if moved to a new hard drive.  I don’t want a should be I want to know I can before I where to do something like that.

Sony however will allow a one time deal to allow you to re-download a video once and only once after contacting  Sony Customer Service.

So just be careful once you start your fall clean up on your PS3 don’t delete the content until you are more than sure that you will never need that content again.

    Thanks for the heads up! I was wondering about that issue. I haven't ran into a situation where I had to worry about it, but I know by the end of the year, I may.

    PS3 buyers should buy a cheap SKU and install their own HD. It makes deletions a non-existent problem. I plan on picking up an HD upgrade soon so I won't be purchasing any digital video anytime soon.

    I completely agree with Kosamus here!!! As a matter of fact, I replaced the hard drive in my PS3 and I have an external 500 GB plugged in which I routinely back up my entire PS3 hard drive with.

    I'm surprised that most people don't know that which pretty much makes this whole one download issue pointless. Just make sure do a complete backup on an external drive. This protects you just incase you do delete a game/Qore episode/video you've downloaded or if your PS3 croaks, once you get it back…you can just restore all your games, videos, and music.

    I agree L1T1G4TOR but some people save for their PS3 and are really unable to buy a new HD right away because of money issues and/or just keep saying I have to buy that larger HD for my PS3 and just keep putting it off thinking that I have time and I have plenty of room left on the current HD. I say that because I am that person that has put off buying a larger HD since I bought my PS3 and keep convincing myself I dont need a larger HD even though I know I do.
