Audio Censoring Tech For Microsoft

So you just want to go and play a little Call of Duty 4 on XBL, but you don’t put on your headset because you just want to play and not get cursed at by another player.

Don’t fear the headset, you soon might be able to put that headset on and not worry about that anymore.

Microsoft has gotten a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trade Office for Technology that can censor inappropriate language  in real-time.  They originally applied for the patten back in 2004.  This technology works by analyzing audio streams and recognizes objectionable words based on phenomes and bleeps or silences them.

How nice would this be if this where to hit the market, sure it takes away from the whole XBL environment, but once in awhile when you just want to kick back and play a few matches it will be nice.
