Is the iPod Touch a valid game system?

The short and sweet answer in NO. Now I am not saying that there are not games that you can put on the iPod, what I am saying is that there are no real full games. Unless you are a hardcore Bejeweled player. The issue the iPod has is that all of its games are about equivalent to flash games or Pop-Cap games. These games have their place, but the question is do these games really compete with the DS? I really do hope that Apple takes strides to bring in developers and make it a better platform for games. Really I think the iPod Touch, and iPhone have run into the same problem as the wii, the platform is great but the developers need to be more creative. For now the iPod Touch is just a fancy phone that can’t make calls.

  • To be fair, people were skeptical about the DS being a compelling gaming platform.
