Sony Says “No Home for You, Qore One-Timer”

Today I received an email from Sony Playstation Underground which read as follows:

As an update to the PLAYSTATION(R)3 News email sent on Friday,
October 24th, the special invitation to PlayStation(R)Home’s closed
beta is available only to Qore annual subscribers who purchased
subscriptions by 10/29. Qore Episode 06 purchasers will not be
eligible for the special PlayStation(R)Home beta invitation at
this time. We apologize for the miscommunication.

Participation in PlayStation(R)Home’s closed beta is limited to
those 18 years and older and requires agreement with the
PlayStation(R)Home Beta Trial.

Looks like now you can save the $3 and use it someplace else. I was going to drop three Washingtons on this, but now I will not. Something that has been delayed for so long and interests is dying down for, I thought giving gamers the chance for a $3 beta would have made Home a more discussed item for blogs, podcasts, articles, and the like. This move by Sony will undoubtedly bring about more negative comments about their ways with the Playstation Network. This could not have come at a more difficult time with the lacking of a stable server for SOCOM and the delay of the server for Little Big Planet.

Push thoughts of Home aside for now, unless you have a yearly subscription to Qore, and just play some great games in this season of blockbusters. Its back to Little Big Planet and Resistance 2, when I get my copy.

i would say that anyone who already has the year long subscription, is in the beta, I agree, this is a bad move on sonys part.

O well sony can blow a donkey now. They do some of the dumbest stuff. I would have MAYBE thought about buying a full yr but now I lost all intrest in qore. I hate the fact it takes 2 hrs to download a 1.5g file but now this. O well hope qore crashes.

Sony just never seems to pull it all together.

"Here is Qore, you buy it and you will get access to exclusive demos and betas. Buy Qore now and get access to Home Beta….. Ok, you gave us your money right? OK, OK there is a catch about the Home beta…. we didn't mean "YOU" could get into it…it was for other people who bought the same thing you did, just earlier. Sorry about that….our bad. Hope you enjoy this issue of Qore."

The number one selling point for getting Qore and they F'd that up!

  • I think this is a case of spoiled gamers getting what they deserve. Instead of manning up and buying the whole year, gamers want to purchase their desired episodes and get everything we (the subscribers) do. That's like not paying for Xbox LIVE Silver and expecting to get all of the Gold features.

Seriously, this is what Sony should have done from day 1. I'm sick of all the crying people running around saying "I'm tired of betas now." You get what you want…you cry about it. You don't get what you want, you cry about it. WTF? I'm not referring to the peeps here…just the guys I keep hearing on podcasts.

But seriously…you can hate on Sony all you want. I don't believe you should get access to everything I do. What's the point in being an annual subscriber if you going to get everything I do? I put my $25.00 up front and had faith that Sony would deliver while others decided they'd just pick and choose. Live by your choice and die by your choice.

It's plain and simple here folks.

Kudos to Sony. I heard talk about it on the Beta forums, but I'm glad they had the balls to do it.
