Here are some excellent choices if you are looking to put some Xbox 360 retail games under the tree this year. Once again, these are in no particular order.

1. Gears of War 2

The acclaimed sequel is here at last and with it comes plenty of great times. The story is improved over last time and the multiplayer is back with the addition of Horde mode. Gears of War 2 will be a game played for many months to come. Note that this game is intended for MATURE gamers.

2. Fable 2

Just like Gears of War 2, Fable 2 is another great sequel. The open-ended world is greatly improved over the first title, the choices are plentiful, and the style in which this game is done is pulled off nicely. Getting this game for someone this holiday will earn you brownie points for sure.

3. Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

This is a great game for both young and older gamers. The colorful world is back, full of the crazy pinatas. This game has plenty of options, gameplay, and overall fun.

4. Left 4 Dead

If the intended person of your gift likes either zombies or shooter games (or both), then Left 4 Dead is a perfect match. The online is done well in this horror fest and the built in ability for the computer to change the locations of the enemies gives this title an extra extended time in the gameplay rotation.

5. Rock Band 2

More great music from the developers of the first game always means more fun. With dozens of new songs to rock out to, this game is fun for one player, or even four. Rock Band 2 is a quality gift and it is the gift that will keep on giving as the weeks and months go onward.
