Gears Of War 2 Losing Ground

Despite the recent release of the Combustible Map Pack, Gears of War 2 is not as popular as it predecessor Gears of War. Last week it was #3 on the Xbox 360 top live title and was there for 2 weeks. Now it has dropped to #4 this week.
I can see why the drop is taking place. For one the matchmaking process is still a little to long to wait to start up a online match, and I do not like the way it goes to vote on the mode you want to play (such as Annex, King of the Hill etc). Maybe it will pick back up soon as many gamers may have received there copy as a present this year. Or maybe the gaming market was just flooded last month with great titles gamers might have yet to buy it. I really can’t pinpoint as into why one of my favorite online titles is going downhill so fast.

I wonder if all the new Xbox 360 owners are picking up a copy of Gears of War 2 or Halo 3. I'd say the latter which would illustrate why it is still hovering at the top despite being one of the biggest disappointments on the console.
Yeah, set new single day sales record at the time of release, caused an all time low box office slump the week it came out, remains at number 1 on XBL even 16 months after launch, still very well supported with DLC and such, and scored a 94 out of a 100 on metacritic… you're right… total let down…
Damn, the L4D thing is suprising, and no Fallout 3? This list should be on the front page on the site weekly, its pretty interesting
