PSN Update for the Week that Was!

Yes so I am a couple days late with the PSN update for the week.  But have you played what came out this week?  If so you’ll understand why!

The main highlight of this week’s PSN Update was the game from the people over at FluffyLogic, Savage Moon.  Seen Starship Troopers?

Savage Moon ($9.99)This action-packed tower defense strategy game takes you to distant planets where you must defend mining facilities from relentless Insectocyte monsters. Build towers in strategic locations to fend off the attackers, then use funds from kills and mining to build, upgrade, or research new weapons and technologies to strengthen your defenses. It will take equal parts skill and strategy to survive in Savage Moon. Download the game today!

I have put already about 5-6 hours into this game and am enjoying every minute of it.  It is similar to Pixel Junk Monsters but with a modern twist and really BIG GUNS!  I recommend this tower defense game to everyone!

But that wasn’t the only game release this week.  Pop Cap Games announcement that they are bringing five games to the PSN was a welcome shock to me!  The first of these games being released is Bejeweled 2, available now!  “Bejeweled 2 ($9.99) Experience the classic gem-swapping puzzler! Now available on the PlayStation Network, Bejeweled 2 lovers can now earn over 10 unique PS3 trophies and play Bejeweled 2 on the PSP via remote play. Swap gems to match 3 or more, and delight in four different game modes and explosive new gem types. With amazing planetary backdrops and awesome special effects in 1080p, Bejeweled 2 will dazzle you!

The next two items have to deal with a price drop and a limited time bundle pack.

Seems that as the retail title keeps going down in price someone at Sony thought that the downloadable version of Burnout Paradise should also go down in price.  Therefore Burnout Paradise is now also just $19.99 downloadable on the PSN.  BE WARNED: If going from a retail based game save to a downloadable game save you will, probably, have to start over!

Bundled together only till February 26th, 2009 is the Brain Challange PS3 and PSP game; for the low price of $12.99.  “Now train your brain anywhere you want without restriction! Boost your brain abilities through fun gaming sessions from the comfort of your sofa or on the go. 25 Visual, Memory, Logic, Math and Focus mini-games will put your neurons to the test. Additional stress-management exercises will push the challenge even further and help you develop resistance to real-life stress. Compare yourself with other players in exciting multiplayer modes.  Offer valid until February 26th 2009!  ESRB Rated E  File size: 268 MB

The only other things worth mentioning from this weeks PSN Update is the FREE DLC for Mirror’s Edge and Lord of the Rings: Conquest.  The Mirror’s Edge DLC is a single map that consists of no guns, no cops, no city and just pure aesthetics.  The LOTR content brings 1v1 and 2v2 gameplay to the RTS.

Other then that it is your usual compilation of videos, trailers and DLC for Little Big Planet.  If looking for more descriptions on the update please visit the Official Playstation Blog!  Oh and while there please take their survey and have input on what the future Platstation Blog will entail!
