Battlefield, one of the oldest online first-person shooter franchises, seems to be celebrating some success. Battlefield: Bad Company was a big hit, being only EA’s second outing of the series for consoles. Battlefield is primarily a PC game, and some feel that’s where it belongs. Honestly, it is true that for FPS’s, nothing beats a mouse and keyboard.
However, DICE are set to release a new game for Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network, and PC, entitled Battlefield 1943. For a fan of the series, you’ll know this is simply a remake of Battlefield 1942, released in 2002, but lovingly remade for Next-Gen consoles as a full downloadable game. It’s also been rebuilt using Bad Company’s Frostbite Engine, allowing pretty much everything in the game world to be destroyed.
Set for release this Summer, I am very excited for this title. I’m a huge fan of the series, I just love the huge open-world maps, ranking system, unlockables, everything about the games.
