The other day I had a huge craving for a Real Time Strategy Game. Being a Mac user I was pretty much out of luck. So I went to Apples site, and searched for strategy games, and Tribal Trouble 2 popped up.
Tribal Trouble 2 is a online Real Time strategy game that is in Beta form. It requires absolutely no installation. What is amazing to me is that it is not displayed in your browser window, instead it actually launches as if it were an actual local application. Though you still manage your profile on the internet.
Tribal Trouble 2 has some really great graphics, it’s no Age of Empires (RIP Ensemble) but it is pretty fun. You are the chief of a viking tribe and you have to complete about 30 levels (there could be more I am not certain), and then there is the online skirmish mode. Which brings me into my long list of complaints.
Firstly, you can’t just download the game, and therefor have to fight with their spotty servers. (hopefully this will improve, seeing as it is a beta) I was unable to get a single match of online skirmish in, because there were so few people, and when finally enough arrived the servers dropped the match. I think this could also be solved by letting us download the game, so the servers wouldn’t have to manage quite so much data.
It was really fun, and I would recommend you give it a try one of these days when you are feeling a little board. Here is the link to the site. http://tribaltrouble2.com
-note: this game is still in beta form, and shouldn’t be given any sort of final judgment based on this overview-
