YouTube Your HAWX Via The PS3

Are you like Maverick from Top Gun when you play Tom Clancy’s HAWX? Do your friends just stare at you when you tell tales of your digital dogfight domination? Well, now you can send them proof that you’re the king of the skies!
According to the HAWX developer blog, the PS3 version of the game will support one of the PS3’s lesser known features, the ability to record game footage and upload directly to YouTube.

I really wish more developers would take advantage of this feature. It’s something that can set the PS3 version apart from 360 version. Imagine being able to record videos in a game like Street Fighter IV or Call of Duty:World At War and send them directly to your YouTube account. I’m thinking this would make a lot of people think twice about defaulting to the Xbox 360 version on multi-platform titles.

  • Right you are, this is a cool feature. Honestly, I’ve never used it in the one game I’ve played that supports it, and I’m not certain I would for this one either, but it’d be nice to have the option. Stuff like this is good for the PSN, because let’s face it, those of us who have played on both on-line services know that the PSN (though it’s getting better) pales in comparison to XBL. Something exclusive like this would be a good swing in Sony’s favor.

  • I wish I would have known this before I bought it for the 360. That is a really cool feature and would love to put up some gameplay footage on Youtube! I will probably keep the 360 version because of friends only playing on the 360, but I may just pick up a copy for the PS3. But you’re right, I wish a lot more developers would use this feature. Having that feature in a lot of games may help Sony get a lot more sales.
