15 Million Have Played COD4 on Consoles



This week, Infinity Ward revealed that over 11 million unique users have played Call of Duty 4 while connected to Xbox Live on both Silver and Gold accounts (via Kotaku). That’s an impressive number, no doubt. However, it fails to take into account the “over four million” PS3 users who’ve played the game while hooked up to PSN. This all bodes quite well for Infinity Ward’s upcoming sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

In fact, I’m going to go ahead and make an educated guess: Modern Warfare 2 will have the largest opening weekend ever for a videogame when it hits store shelves this fall. You can hold me to that… if your memory’s that good.
