Gears of War 2 will be getting it’s third update for multiplayer on March 24th to fix numerous problems and give us some much needed improvements. Among the changes the update will include nine new achievements, a new ranking system and the addition of bots that will replace players that have dropped from online matches this is just to name a few of the additions as the fixes are to numerous to list.
Also set to arrive later this month (March 31) is a new map pack that will be named “Snowblind” which will include a frozen versions of Fuel Depot, Courtyard, Under Hill and Grind Yard. No price has been set as of yet but I would say it will set you back 800 Microsoft Points as most map packs do.
It is nice to see that Epic is confronting all the problems with Gears of War 2, but is it to late? Gears of War was my go to game for online play, but I can’t say the same for Gears of War 2, I would much rather throw in Call of Duty 4 (not that I am knocking CoD 4 as it is probably one of the best online games) before I even think about reaching for Gears. There has been so many problems with the game (online) that I think gamers have moved on because we have just grown tired of the Gears of War 2 problems. After the update I will give Gears of War 2 another shot just because I do love the Gears of War games and want to see them rise to the top.
