This week is not void of big new releases. It is void of a headliner that actually comes in the box you may or may not purchase at retail. Sony is conducting a big experiment in regards to its probable move to downloadable PSP titles with one of its smallest, quirkiest titles on the handheld console.
The rhythmic platformer Patapon 2 (PSP) is coming to a local retailer near you tomorrow but all you’ll be getting is a box with a code. Oh, and a price tag $5 higher than that on the PSN store. The game is the center of the big experiment that Sony is trying to get gamers used to downloading their PSP titles. This is most likely because, if the rumors are true, the PSP 2 or PSP Go! (whichever winds up being true) will have a built-in hard drive and this is how you will get all future PSP titles. However this test goes or wherever you choose to pick the game up, if the game is as fun as the original, it will be well worth it.
Other notable releases this week:
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (Xbox 360, Wii, DS)
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (Wii)
Space Invaders Extreme (XBLA)
Arkanoid Live (XBLA)
Fallout 3: Broken Steel (XBLM, PC)
What will you be picking up this week?
