Tetris Turns 25

tetris25 years ago a Russian mathematician developed a game that had instant success.  Alexey Pajitnov made a simple game that gives you various shapes of blocks that drop one by one and we position them on the bottom of the screen and attempt to fill in rows, so that a filled in row will disappear and we could start filling in the next rows.  The object is not to let the blocks hit the top or it would be game over.

Not that anyone reading this really needed a description on how to play Tetris, because we all must of played the game at one time or another as Tetris has been purchased and downloaded 125 million times and continues to sell to this day.

So Happy Birthday Tetris, here’s to another 25!
