Rockstar Games announced today that they will be releasing a PSP version of their most recent portable GTA game, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. The game will be available this fall as both a UMD and as a digital download.
“We’re proud to extend this truly unique handheld Grand Theft Auto experience to PSP and offer a downloadable version of Chinatown Wars for PSP” says Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “Rockstar Leeds has shown incredible talent in creating games that raise the bar in terms of depth and innovation on portables, and with Chinatown Wars we have a rich, fast-paced, and incredibly addictive entry into the series.”
This version of Chinatown Wars will be updated specifically for the PSP with widescreen graphics, improved lighting and animation, and will include some all-new story missions.
It will be interesting to see if GTA: Chinatown Wars sells any better on the PSP than it did on the DS. Seeing as how the percentage of PSPs owned by moms and tween girls is likely much lower than that of the DS, the title might actually do much better on the PSP.
