APB, the new MMO from Realtime Worlds (creators of Crackdown), attracted some attention at this year’s E3, and deservedly so.
APB blends fast-paced third-person action, deep customization, and meaningful achievement to create a unique persistent online multiplayer experience.
APB utilizes cutting edge technology to create a “living, breathing” city where players clash — on foot and in vehicles — to determine the future of San Paro, a fictional metropolis, where two factions — Enforcement and Criminal — vie for control.
The visuals look beautiful and the action looks intense, but what really stands out to me is the level of customization. MMO’s are famous, in part, for their numerous character design options, but it appears that APB is raising the bar–and not just a little.
APB looks like a game to watch. Look for it on PC and Xbox 360 in early 2010.
