EA Montreal has announced a date for the upcoming sequel to the co-op shooter Army of Two. Army of Two: The 40th day will be shipped January 12, 2010 in the US and for those in the UK they will be able to get their hands on The 40th Day January 8, 2010, but wait there is more to this announcement. EA has stated that if you pre-order The 40th Day you will have access to the games new multiplayer mode “Extrication” at launch, but have no fear if you don’t pre-order the game the new mode will be available about one month after the game ships.
Here is what EA has to say about the games new mode:
Extraction’ pits a team of four players against a series of unique enemy waves as they move from point to point in the ruined city. Players must strategize as a unified team to combat the different forces of the 40th Day Initiative while trying to get out alive.
Kind of sounds a little like the popular Horde mode on Gears of War 2, but we will have to wait and see how the gameplay is for the new mode. I am kind of excited about the next chapter in the Army of Two as I have played the first one just a few months ago and after playing it I wondered why it took me so long to pick it up.
Army of Two: The 40th Day will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PSP.
