PlayStation 3 v3.00 Update Broken?



playstation_3_logo_041106Looks like the new update for the PlayStation 3 has some issues that is affecting some people that have downloaded the latest update(v3.00) for their PS3′s.  The problems vary from not being able to access their trophies to their systems freezing up while playing games.  I for one have not experienced any problems on my system as of yet, but if you are one of the unfortunate have no fear Sony is aware of the problems and are working on a fix for the technical issues people are having.  For more details about people experiencing trouble or if your one of the people experiencing trouble with your system since the update check out PlayStation.Blog.

Here is the statement by Patrick Seybold  SCEA’s Senior Director, Corporate Communications and Media:

SCEA is aware of reports that PS3 owners are experiencing isolated issues with their PS3 system since installing the most recent system software update (v3.00). Rest assured that we are looking into the matter and will provide an update here as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience, as it’s our mission to deliver the best consumer experience on all PlayStation platforms.

    Yep, I’ve had problems with my PS3 since the update. I have a brand new copy of Batman Arkham Asylum and it’s frozen on me 3 separate times, and all 3 times happened at different points, once in the middle of walking, once on the start screen, and once it wouldn’t even load up the game. I hope they get this fixed, but I must say I’m relieved to hear that it’s the update that’s making my PS3 freeze up and not something more serious!
