Hot on the heels of Guitar Hero 5‘s release, we get the announcement for a whole slew of new DLC.

Activision has announced all of the DLC that will be made available for Guitar Hero 5 for the month of October.  There are actually a couple of songs that I will be downloading, like the GWAR track.  Also coming on October: Queens of the Stone Age, Billy Squier, Wolfmother, The Misfits, and more.  Hit the jump for the full list.

Downloadable Content – October 1
Queens Of The Stone Age Track Pack:
“How to Handle a Rope”

Downloadable Content – October 8
Billy Squier Track Pack:
“The Stroke”
“Everybody Wants You”
“When She Comes To Me”

Downloadable Content – October 15
Wolfmother Track Pack:

Classic Rock 2 Track Pack:
The J. Geils Band  – “Freeze Frame”

It looks like Guitar Hero is coming out swinging, hoping to hold their own against the onslaught of fans going for The Beatles: Rock Band. So where do you fall? Are you a Guitar Hero fan? Do you go for Rock Band? Or are rhythm games the bane of your existence?

Maybe a few songs from the first 3 track packs. But DEFINITELY the Classic Rock 2 Track Pack. FINALLY SOME TRIUMPH! So happy that I finally a song from Triumph in there. While there are better songs, it’s great to see them there.
