The month of October has seen best-selling titles Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 come to Games on Demand. They will be joined by six more in the coming days of October.
While October 13 will see the release of the highly anticipated Brutal Legend on the Xbox 360, it will also see Grand Theft Auto IV hit Games of Demand. At this time, GTA4 is only available for download on the PC platform, but that is changing. Already exclusive to Xbox Live are the add-ons to GTA4, The Lost and Damned and, soon, The Ballad of Gay Tony.
On October 20, another Rockstar title, Midnight Club Los Angeles, will join Games on Demand, as well as EA’s Army of Two and SEGA’s Sonic Unleashed. One week after that, on October 27, EA’s sci-fi horror title Dead Space and Codemasters’ DiRT will also hit Games on Demand.
While pricing currently hasn’t been announced, digital delivery gamers can expect the typical price tag of between $19.99 and $29.99.
Personally, I would like to finally see games released physically and digitally on the same day at some point soon. The PC has been extremely successful with digital downloads of full games on release day. Current titles in the Games on Demand ‘stable’ include such hits as Oblivion, Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed, and BioShock.
