The latest TV advertisement for Borderlands uses its artistic style to its fullest potential in showing potential buyers both in-game cutscene footage while also showing off some of the awesome gameplay aspects of the lovechild of the FPS and RPG genres from Gearbox Software and 2K Games.
Borderlands looks to take the strengths from both genres and meld them into one of the greatest co-op adventures to date in the world of gaming. I believe that another strength of the game is the cell-shaded art design. It seems to give the action a bit more ‘POP!’ without it looking too much like a cartoon. Borderlands is going to be a welcome addition to my game collection, if not on launch day, then certainly sooner rather than later. Gearbox looks to have set a new high standard for themselves.
Borderlands is set to raid and pillage store shelves next Tuesday, October 20 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
