Microsoft’s 250 GB Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 caught most of us a little off guard last month, but the move towards a massive hard drive makes a lot of sense as digital game distribution grows in popularity. Now, Sony has answered Microsoft’s move by announcing their own 250 gig PS3 Slim. Set to release November 3, the new model will cost $350… $50 more than the current 120 GB model. All in all, the cost seems pretty reasonable considering how much more content can be crammed into that newer, bigger drive. Of course, if you’ve got even the slightest bit of technical knowledge, you could always just upgrade the drive yourself to whatever size you please.
It seems pretty natural to assume that Microsoft will follow suit with their own non-limited edition 250 GB model sometime soon; perhaps after the Holidays.
