Numerous fictional universes have spawned instances within different forms of media from the obvious movies and television shows to video games, novels, and comic books.
Star Wars. Star Trek. Halo. Gears of War. World of Warcraft.
The list goes on and on.
You can now add Mass Effect to that list. Mass Effect was released as the initial entry into BioWare’s epic space opera back in November of 2007. With the success of the video game, an obvious sequel is on its way (to be released January 26 and 29, 2010, in North America and Europe, resp.). Also, with the extensive universe, a prequel novel (Mass Effect Revelation) and a ‘bridge’ novel (Mass Effect Ascension) were written by the writing group at BioWare, led by Drew Karpyshyn. Sources have also said that there is a movie in the works.
It seems that the only medium left to tap into is the comic book market. Well, here you go. Mac Walters and John Jackson Miller have penned a storyline for a Mass Effect comic book, to be released by Dark Horse Comics. Screens below are courtesy of the BioWare Blog.
