A post over at Gamespy yesterday indicates that Activision Blizzard’s upcoming installment of their critically acclaimed hack-and-slash series “Diablo” will definitely not be released within 2010. It seems we will be waiting until 2011 or possibly even longer for the game to be released.
“At a presentation held in New York recently, Activision Blizzard’s CFO Thomas Tippl confirmed that both StarCraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are scheduled to release in 2010. Kotaku got hold of a digital snapshot of the Blizzard release schedule slide, which sadly indicates that Diablo III will be out in the ‘next few years.'”
This doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, considering Blizzard frequently takes their time with games to make sure they get everything just-so. Blizzard fans will however be getting their MMO and RTS fix next year with the arrival of a World of Warcraft expansion and the long-anticipated Starcraft II.
