This article was written by: Jordan Silverthorne (Silverthorne)For most gamers, review scores are an invaluable tool in determining whether or not a particular game is woth buying. Metacritic.com is perhaps the most widely used review aggregate site; it assigns and adapts scores from various media outlets into a simple 10 point rating scale. The number of sites that throw out 100%’s or 10/10’s is pathetic. At least one site gave each of those games a perfect score when i wouldnt put any of them near perfect. I havent played a few of those but the ones i have wouldnt come close to making the list.
I love Forza 3, but its not a 10, a 9, its not an 8. Just for the simple fact that it failed to add improvements other games like GRID did. I like a numbered review system but clearly people are doing it wrong – or maybe i am.
