Twilight Princess, the last installment in the Zelda franchise, was released alongside the Wii a few years back. It met with critical acclaim across the board and was hailed by many as the best Zelda game ever made. Well, Eiji Aonuma, the director of Twilight Princess, feels that being the best simply wasn’t good enough. He recently said:
“With Twilight Princess, we challenged ourselves to create the most vast and realistic world the series had ever seen, but we don’t feel that we were able to fully complete this objective,” Aonuma said. “With that as a starting point for our improvements to the series in the future, we are of course working on a new game for Wii.”
It appears this new game is going to expand the limits of the world created in Twilight Princess, and the article at 1up.com says that they will take a more realistic look at Link. The picture above is in fact the only thing to be released concerning this new game. They are also planning to implement the motion-control software, so sword fighting should definitely not turn into button-mashing. If Eiji Aonuma can pull it off and make an even more impressive game, I think all Nintendo fans could be in for a real treat when this comes out. Now if I could only get my hands on a Wii!
