With roughly six weeks until Mass Effect 2 hits store shelves in the US and Europe, BioWare has announced the cast that will voice the characters.
Three words: Oh. My. God.
Talk about star-studded. From Crispy Gamer:
According to BioWare, the game features Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Martin Sheen (”The West Wing”, “Apocalypse Now”), 2009 Emmy Award-winner Shohreh Aghdashloo (”House of Saddam”), comedic actor Seth Green (”Austin Powers,” “Family Guy,” “Robot Chicken”), “Chuck” stars Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin, Keith David (”Crash”) and sci-fi favorites Michael Dorn (”Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), Tricia Helfer (”Battlestar Galactica”), Michael Hogan (”Battlestar Galactica”) and Carrie-Anne Moss (”The Matrix”).
Here are the roles that the above actors will be voicing:
–Martin Sheen: The Illusive Man, leader of Cerberus
–Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Saddam): Admiral Shala’Raan vas Tonbay (Quarian Flotilla)
–Seth Green: Jeff ‘Joker’ Moreau
–Yvonne Strahovksi (Chuck): Miranda Lawson, Cerberus operative (trailer coming VERY soon)
–Adam Baldwin (Chuck): Kal’Reegar (sounds Krogan to me)
–Keith David: Captain David Anderson
–Michael Dorn (Star Trek TNG): Gatatog Uvenk (Collector? Maybe Krogan?)
–Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica): EDI (voice of new Normandy)
–Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica): Captain Bailey (no clue who this is)
–Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Trilogy): Aria T’Loak, crime lord who rules Planet Omega in Terminus Systems (Sounds Asari, possibly quarian?)
At any rate, with each piece of news that comes out, my goosebumps get bigger and bigger. I’m all giddy for this game so much that I may not get another game until August 2010 because I’ll be pounding Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2 for a LONG time.
