Halo 3: ODST was Bungie’s biggest success of this year, selling over three million copies, but there haven’t been many indications that Bungie has interest in making the adventures of the ODST team until now. One of the most interesting parts of Halo 3: ODST was the sarcastic and free minded leader of the ODST Squad known as Buck voiced by Firefly actor Nathan Fillion. Buck was not only was the fearless leader of ODST, but with history on Reach, not to mention a love interest, he seems like a character with a lot potential. Meaning Buck could return in Halo: Reach, Bungies newest title in the Halo universe hopefully to be released next year. Joseph Statten writer and creative director of Bungie stated in an interview: “I can’t comment on any future plans for our ODSTs, but it would be a shame if we made a game about the planet Reach — a place where Buck, the ODST’s squad leader, was known to be — and not have him appear in some way shape or form…” Could this be hint that we may see not only the origin of The Covenant, Master Chief, but Buck and Dare? The new trailer at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards showed no hint of Buck, but tune into Platform Nationfor any new updates.
