Guitar Hero may be returning to its metal roots if a post on Megadeth.com is any indication. A fan posed the question to the group, and Dave Mustaine was very forthcoming in his answer.
Dave said, “I have recently had two very important high-level meetings with the people from Activision and Neversoft, and we are talking about a lot of things, but a Guitar Hero box set is not as attractive to me and the people from Guitar Hero as the new idea that they offered me, as the creative stuff that we are talking about is over-the-moon! I just hope that someone doesn’t stand in the way of this happening. I know that there are a lot of really damaging results from our mothership (WEA) having some legal disputes with YouTube and Guitar Hero to name just a few.”
Of course, Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying is available as a whole album download on Rock Band. Personally, I think Megadeth would make an awesome addition to the Guitar Hero franchise. Songs like Sweating Bullets, Train of Consequences, and Foreclosure of a Dream would be so much fun to play.
My only request would be for Neversoft and Activision to keep out all the filler bands that they are so fond of slipping into these games. Harmonix has the right idea when it comes to a single band game.
So what do you think? Does the world need a Guitar Hero Megadeth?
Thanks, GameInformer!
