In a press release on Microsoft Japan’s website, MS stated that on March 11th, the 250GB HDD will be available as a standalone product and will carry a quite hefty price tag of ¥15,540 (~$170/£107). Also on the same day they will be releasing a Wireless Controller Game Pack (bundling Bomberman Live, Lumines, Geomotry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 and Ms. Pac-Man that are all Xbox LIVE Arcade titles. There’s more releasing on the this day and that is a Wireless N Adapter that is supposedly faster than the average b/g wireless connections.
The 250GB HDD was previously only available to the Modern Warfare 2 Super Elite, Forza Motorsport 3 Super Elite and the Mass Effect 2 Super Elite, the latter of which is only available to our Australian friends.
I would think that this will become available worldwide at some point, and if it does, then it needs to be cheaper; but then again, this is Microsoft!
