Welcome to the P*N weekly look ahead at what new releases will be battling for your gaming dollars.
This week, I’ve picked out three releases to look at in more detail:
Alien vs Predator 3, Bioshock 2 and Dante’s Inferno
The Alien vs Predator 3 demo was released this past week and it has been met with generally average reviews. We can all hope that the retail version is a much more polished game as it brings together two of the most feared characters.
BioShock has a cult following and stood out as a first person shooter with a twist, therefore fans are expecting even more innovation this time around from BioShock 2. The story is again set in the underwater setting of Rapture, 10 years after the original with the player taking on the role of the prototype for the Big Daddies. The main addition this time round is the story driven multiplayer, set one year before the events of BioShock itself.
Dante’s Inferno is a new IP that looks like it will rely heavily on the gameplay laid down by God of War. If it achieves this, then Xbox owners can finally stop wishing that God of War was a multiplatform game. On the other hand, anything less than a perfect clone of God of War will just bring criticism in the direction of the developers.
