You may have read a few of the articles as of late right here on Platform Nation about the upcoming 2D, retro style graphic game with the 3D environment heading our way May 11th 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and if your like me you want to see more of what 3D Dot Game Heroes has to offer. Well some journalist got to sit down with Aram Jabbar from Atlus via video conferencing and I was one of them to watch and learn a little more about this upcoming game. Aram started by taking us through the editor and proved just how easy it was for us to make a custom character that he built bit by bit and got right into the gameplay. Aram even took the time to make expressions for his new character and showed how each expression was used as he walked and even attacked, all this in just about three minutes. The customization also allows you to pick the colors of your character. If your not in the mood to make your own customized character you can chose from the playable characters already made for you. The gameplay was smooth and the environments where awesome from the water surrounding the castle to the forest full of trees. There where many levels to choose from that included mini-games and side quests and even a place where you can get your “natural sword enhancement” done on the spot. From exploring dungeons to solving puzzles and slaying monsters this game provides a little something for everyone and with the price tag of $39.99 this can fit into almost any gamers budget.
All in all I fell in love with this game and it will be a day one purchase for me as not only is the price tag appealing, but the game itself brings an old gamer like me back to the days of long ago straight to the retro 8-bit era.
Thanks again to Aram Jabbari from Atlus for the presentation and taking time out of his busy schedule to give us journalist a look a little further into 3D Dot Game Heroes.
