Bert Nordberg, President of Sony Ericsson, has given us a small hint that there may be a PSP phone being produced, according to an interview in the Monday issue of the Mobile World Congress Show Daily.
“We missed the window for high-end and touchscreen devices big time,” he said in an interview with Mobile World Congress’ Show Daily (Monday issue). “Part of the recovery will be much better design and closer work with our partner Sony… In the past there was no tie-up between us, the PSP platform and Sony, but you can expect to hear much more about that.”
Everyone has heard these rumors over the past couple years of this possibility of merging the PSP and Ericsson brand but this is the first time it has actually been spoken of from either side. With the president of Sony Ericsson giving this small hint, there’s definitely something in the pipeline. I just hope it’s not limited to one cellular provider when it launches so everyone can have the chance to own one.
