In the world of console gaming, the word “beta” has come to mean something more along the line of “demo that isn’t quite open to everyone… unless they pay.” Such is the case with Blur, the latest racing game from Project Gotham developer Bizarre Creations.
Overnight, a solicitation reportedly went out to Fileplanet subscribers inviting them to a “Top Secret Xbox 360 Beta.” In order to get in on the deal, you have to be a Fileplanet subscriber ($6.95 per month), have an Xbox Live Gold Account, and take a pre-beta and post-beta survey. Kotaku is reporting that this “top secret” invite is in fact for Blur, a vehicular combat game from Activision Blizzard.
What does this mean for you? Well, if you’re willing to fork over the cash, you too can participate in a beta for a game that’s releasing before the end of spring. Head on over to this link if you want to get in on the action.
