Uncharted 2 Art Book Is Awesome, Expensive

Does someone want to lend me $300? I promise I’m totally good for it, you know, General Motors style.

Why? I’ll tell you why: the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves art book from Ballistic Publishing. Ballistic Publishing is a publishing house that focuses primarily on art books from digital artists all over the world, and they’ve just started their “Art of the Game” series of publications. Oddly enough, they’ve already released one book about Oddworld called “The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants: The First Ten Years 1994-2004,” so I’m not entirely sure how this Uncharted 2 book is the start, but whatever, I want one.

Anyways, this art book is absolutely insane. I’m already a sucker for behind the scenes sort of stuff, but this puppy comes with 272 freaking pages of unseen art behind Uncharted 2, my personal game of the year for 2009 (along with almost the rest of the industry). For $65, you get a soft cover copy of the book; for $129, you get a Special Edition that’s bound in leather and features embosses lettering; and for a whopping $300, you get the Limited Folio Edition—of which only 200 are printed and up for grabs—with black leather binding, gold-embossed cover art, an individually numbered and signed certificate, and a hand-crafted leather case.

If you pre-order now, you can get a 15-minute concept art walkthrough video. Oh how I wish I wasn’t a broke college student.
