Nintendo has announced (according to Kotaku), that they will reveal a new handheld line entitled the Nintendo 3DS at E3 this year. Joining the 3D revolution that seems to be taking over theaters and television sets, the new console will reportedly be backwards compatible with all Nintendo DS titles, while offering 3D gameplay without the need for glasses.
If released in the coming year, Nintendo’s 3DS will be the first handheld to allow for three-dimensional gameplay. Some console titles, such as Batman: Arkham Asylum, will soon feature a 3D mode with an upcoming re-release. While movies such as Avatar have proven 3D movies to be profitable, the desire for 3D televisions hasn’t skyrocketed just yet.
I just don’t want to go cross eyed.
