Did you know that the Chinese language has over 20,000 characters and that the average Chinese citizen will only learn 5,000 of them in their lifetime? Or how about that the most popular pizza topping in Japan is squid? Did you also know that Canada has its own videogame awards night? Well, me neither. Mostly because this May marks the first ever Canadian Videogame Awards.
Over the years, Canadian developers such as BioWare, EA Canada, and Ubisoft Montreal have produced some of the finest titles in our industry and on May 5th, 2010 – these fine folks are being honored. Visit the official website now to order tickets to attend the show in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.
Award categories include Best Writing, Best Game Design, and Most Promising Game among others. This years finalists for Game of the Year are: Assassins Creed II, Dawn of War II, Dragon Age: Origins, FIFA 10, and Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. It’s sure to be an exciting night, so if you’re able to attend, definitely show up. Even better, Video Games Live is there to lend their musical talents throughout the show.
My money’s on Assassins Creed II.
