Welcome to Platform Nation’s weekly feature which tells you the games that you need to care about that are coming out in the next week.
My pick for this week is:
Monster Hunter 3
Monster Hunter 3 is the third console installment in the Monster Hunter franchise, developed by Capcom and was actually released for the Wii in Japan on August 1, 2009. This week, the rest of the world can get its hand on the game.
My View: It may be my pick of the week, partly due to the huge monsters you fight but also partly due to the lack of games being released this week. The Monster Hunter series has been hugely successful in Japan but has struggled to replicate this success elsewhere. Monster Hunter 3 is currently showing a score of 88% in metacritic and is only the 20th game in history to receive 40/40 in Famitsu, so I’ll be watching the reception from the rest of the world with interest. Maybe it’ll be the game that makes me dust off the Wii.
Other notable releases this week:
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom (PC)
Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley (PSP)
AfterBurner Climax (X360, PS3)
Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack The Ripper (X360)
Beat City (DS)
House M.D (DS)
Why not leave a comment below telling us which game(s) you’ll be picking up this week?
