Bionic Commando: Rearmed was Capcom’s remake of the popular NES game from the 80s. The remake of the classic racked up over 100,000 downloads in its first week. Therefore, it only makes sense that a sequel would follow.
Here is a trailer for the first:
Recently a teaser trailer for the second game was released to the net fans of retro type games should be excited. Though the best part of the game is the ability to jump nothing was more annoying in the first then the epic fails from falling. Many times you would be through part of the level just to fall to your doom because your grapple missed its mark. Since GRIN is no longer around, development of the sequel will be handled by Fat Shark. The game is currently scheduled to be ready for a Q1 2011 release on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Capcom promises we will get to see new weapon types as well as special moves for the main character. Plus an original score is being produced for the game which should be fantastic.

Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 users alike also got a taste of the Bionic Commando world in a remake for next-gen systems. Though the game was meant with very poor scores it tried to hold its own in the world of new age games. The game may have not made a big splash but the trailer for it can be seen here. Only if they had made a game that you could switch back and forth through the 2 different styles of game play.
