It appears that the PS3 version of the beautifully retro game Final Fight: Double Impact requires that you be signed into the PSN to play it…even if you want to play a local game. If you attempt to play without a connection, you’ll get the message “Sign into PlayStation Network (80029516)”. The Xbox 360 version does not have the same issue, as it plays just fine if you’re not signed into Live.
Is this going to be the new way of things for PS3 now that we’ve been all but forced to download the latest firmware? Was this a Capcom requirement, or a Sony requirement? Either way, I don’t like it. What do you think?
