Earlier last week, our very own David Jaffe came across a rather speculative looking list in which he revealed in a blog post of his. In it he expressed some sort of skepticism of which I completely agreed with, as the list contained a few titles that were either canceled or unheard of. As the picture above suggest, the list consist of the following:
Microsoft
- Project Xfree
- Battletoads
- XBLA James Bond
- Gears of War 3
- Forza Motorsport 4
- Ninja Solid
Sony
- Killzone 3
- Resistance 3
- Motorstorm 3
- Little Big Planet 2
- Twisted Metal: Harbor City
- God of War 3: Afterfall
- inFamous 2
- Mass Effect 3
- Omikuden
- Fahrenheit 2
Activision
- Call of Duty(MMO)
- Guitar Hero 6
EA
- Dead Space 2
- Bad Company 3
- Road Rash HD
While most of these are a no brainer, there are few that stand out, those being Project Xfree, Twisted Metal: Harbor City, God of War: Afterfall, Mass Effect 3, and Road Rash 3. While there are other titles listed without official confirmation, these 5 stood out the most.
It is unclear as to what Project Xfree, but much speculation throughout the web suggest it might be the new name for Microsoft’s Project Natal. This speculation makes sense as Project Natal is still technically the code name for Microsoft’s motion-control device and the Xbox 360 itself went through many name changes before it’s name was decided.
Twisted Metal: Harbor City and Road Rash HD fall under the canceled game list. These a couple of games that everyone is looking to be rebooted, myself included. David Jaffe has confirmed himself that his company, Eat Sleep Play, hasn’t been requested to work on any of the following Sony titles listed, Twisted Metal: Harbor City included, meaning another company maybe working on it instead of Jaffe’s original team. Either way, both of these announcements would be a suprise along with the unheard of God of War 3: Afterfall and the rumored PS3 release of Mass Effect 3.
No mention of Nintendo releases on this list though we should expect the new Zelda game and Metroid: Other M. Stay posted for any E3 2010 updates.
