Recently SEGA posted on their website some information regarding Sonic 4 and the story so far and have decided to extend the development stage of the game in order to produce ‘a game worthy of bearing the weight of its name’. SEGA have also revealed that they intend to take feedback from both fans of the Sonic franchise and internal sources to make ‘positive changes to the game’ which can only be a good thing, right? Because of the development extension, Sonic 4: Episode one will now launch towards the later part of 2010 which may disappoint eager gamers impatiently waiting to experience Sonic 4 as soon as possible.
In other SEGA related news, it turns out that Sonic 4 will indeed be available on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch and with both Sonic 1 & 2 already available on multiple platforms, its no surprise that SEGA intend to reach more gamers by allowing more players to enjoy Sonic on their portable devices as well as console gamers. In addition to those announcements, SEGA have also divulged that something ‘special’ is happening sometime in June:
Finally, there are rumors that something very special relating to Sonic 4 is coming around a special date this June. You’ll have to wait a bit longer to hear the details, but rest assured that your summer is going to be far from boring with Episode I on the horizon. We’ll also have many more details on exactly what the new and exciting changes to the game will mean for the fans.
What exactly will be happening in June is currently unknown however I’m pretty sure that it will certainly be worth the wait.
