P*N New This Week 23rd May 2010

Welcome to Platform Nation’s weekly feature which tells you the games that you need to care about coming out in the next week.

Each week as well as bringing you news about which games are due to hit the shelves in the seven days ahead, the Platform Nation writer will choose their pick of the week.

My pick for this week is:

Blur: is the ultimate Powered-up racing experience, dropping you into electrified action with a mass of cars targeting the finish line and battling each other as they trade paint.  Utilize an arsenal of Power-ups like nitro speed boosts, shock attacks, defensive shields, and landmines to beat your rivals across the finish line.  You choose how and when to use your armory of Power-ups for ultimate impact in a race where the outcome is never certain.  Blur includes 4 player split-screen multiplayer and 20 player online multi-player.

Blur (from Bizarre Creations) will be available Tuesday, May 25th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

My View: This game is just all-out fun.  Imagine you and nineteen other drivers flying around a track, grabbing weapons and trying to pwn one another.  The carnage is unmeasurable, the graphics are fantastic and you never fall very far behind the action.  If you crash you are re-spawned only a few seconds behind your original position and the car is already at speed.  This really keeps the action going and the cars close together.  This would be a great game to pick-up while waiting for the next Burnout game to roll out.

For some great footage of Blur and its in-your-face racing action, checkout the library of video clips at the Official Blur Website.

great article Chris as it reminded me that Mario Galaxy 2 isout this week. I simply have to get hold of this game, dust off my Wii and play it.
