P*N New This Week: 27th June 2010

Welcome back to another weekly segment where Platform Nation will inform our reader’s of what will be releasing this week.

In the lull after E3 we haven’t been treated to too many new releases but this week sees a few long awaited titles hitting our shelves.

My pick for the week is:

Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4

Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is based on the first four Harry Potter films. The chance of a sequel is in the name i.e. there are more than 4 books/films, so we can expect a follow up to include the next sets of years.  Expect plenty of puzzle solving, exploring and general funny animation as the story of Harry Potter is told using the Lego Universe.

My View: If you don’t know who Harry Potter is or haven’t played one of the many Lego games then please reply to let me know how life has been under that rock as we are dealing with two of the most successful franchises across books, film and video games in recent years.  I’m a sucker for the Lego games and have played Start Wars, Batman and the Indiana Jones versions. Sure, they are basically the same game with a twist as they follow the respective storylines of their topic, and I do not expect Lego Harry Potter to change this winning formula. It’s got the option of local co-op and that’s a winner in my eyes as both my wife and can get in some quality gaming time.

The Full Rundown. As well as my pick of the week, here are some other games releasing this week.

It all depends on the experience you are after. PS3 will almost definately have better graphics.
